Hi guys..new to this forum and looking for parts, barrels, anything for my model 900 20 gauge. The gun is a family heirloom and has been sitting for several years. It seems to be in excellent shape externally, although the grip cap has curled away from the grip and the screw seems to be super tight. Are these caps available ? Thanks for any imput..

For Bwheel257, you may want to try Numrich's for parts which is at gunpartscorp.com.
For others, here is a picture of a recoil operated 20 ga. that I recently acquired. I would appreciate any info. It's a SKB model and has "Custom crafted for Ithaca by SKB" on one side of the barrel but on the other side is stamped "Lightning - 20 GA - 3 Chamber - Proof Tested" and then the ususal Ithaca Gun Co, Made in Japan, Roto Forged, etc. The serial number is S8310XXX which I think may have been made around 1969. I don't see an actual model number on it. I am guessing SKB 900. ?? Can anyone confirm. Also, I could use a friction ring if anyone knows where to get one. The one I have is a little beat up and the gun appears to be a Type 1. Thanks. (Picture isn't that great. Sorry.) 12/29/12 - FYI. Today I talked to Ron Sharp in Ontario. Some of you may have heard of him. He said this was a Type 2. |

My understanding is that the recoil autos were not XL models but just 300s or 900s. All the XLs were gas autos. That was confirmed from Ron Sharp from Ontario. A serious expert of Ithacas. Still has a huge suppy of old parts. I do have two 900s. One is a 7302 model of the 900. and I have a couple of XLs both the XL300 and the XL900. Here are my two 900s
1. 900 Close up 2. 900 Rabbit and grouse on reciever 28" mod. choke ( upland bird) 3. 7302 Retriever and Pheasant on reciever 30" full choke (waterfowl)

I had the stock redone on my 900 SKB 12gauge. They had to lighten the color to match the new wood here is the picture.

I have a question for anyone with a 900 20 ga.. Does the loading gate stay locked until you press the bolt release to load shells? Or does it work normally like other shotguns where you can load shells when you want without pushing the bolt release? One more, is there a gas o-ring that would cause the shells to not eject all the way out that wears out? I inherited the gun last year and a friend shot it last weekend for me and described the above issues to me. Thank you for your help.
