Hmmmmm; I have not seen one in the flesh. How does it stack up against the Rem 3200? Looks kind of similar. Its competition will be the Winchester 101 and the Citorie.

That high comb makes it look like a Clay's or Trap gun, which is fine, of course. Honestly, it is not a very pretty gun IMV. It is going to have to be a very good gun to draw folks away from the guns I've mentioned above. I hope it is. Is it made in Turkey? If so, it is probably curtains and it should be less $.

Concerning O/U guns. I lusted for a Superposed for decades and finally bought a well used one for a grand maybe 10 years ago. I over paid. It falls right open, but has perfect bores. F & M with 30" barrels. No blueing on the balance of the piece, many are like that. I redid the wood, which made it appear much better.

It mounts and shoots like dream, but is a bit heavy. So the question is. Does the OU buying public want to spring for a $1000 used Browning Superposed or an untried Ithaca of about the same size? For $2500 you can get a very, very nice old Superposed.

Just thinking.

Has anyone heard of a release date for the Phoenix? The last I heard was the third or fourth quarter of 2013 other than the new facility will be making them. Has anybody heard anything new?

While you are waiting, buy a M37 Trap model. I got one and have been having so much fun I'm not sweating when the Phoenix will come out. Crushes clays so well two other squad members have purchased one also. Pretty soon I'm going to ask for a kick-back from the boys at Upper Sandusky ;)

I'm dying for the phoenix to come out!! I am strongly considering sending a check for deposit of the unreleased gun. I mean someone had to have preordered the phoenix in 2010 so it would make sense to preorder before the gun is even being made full time! I think this thing will dominate U.S. O/U sales even with the recently re released Ruger Red Label. Ithaca please hurry!

Straight from the horses mouth today. They are redesigning some parts of the gun and Probly won't be in production until 2016 .

Ruger just discontinued the RL, so I guess the American-made O/U market is all for Ithaca now.

Hello there, and thank you. I have a Featherlight Model 37 in 16ga, bought in 2012. It was my first gun purchase, but my second one to possess (the order took a bit long, so I got a handgun while I waited.)
I was taken aback to see Ithaca now has a rifle! It might be the topic of another thread, but did I miss something? What does it mean for the Phoenix?

There are still Kolar and Connecticut Shotgun, but you will pay for the privilege of owning one.

Very true! Forgot about Connecticut, and somehow wasn't aware of Kolar, which I guess is of a single purpose, competition. Either way, both are way off my league. So to correct my previous comment, Ithaca now has a unique position in a particular American made O/U market segment, good news still. Thanks.

Kolar probably makes the best boxlocks in the world, but yes, they are strictly target guns. Their mechanical triggers are a work of art. CSMC makes a great gun, but they are, what I would call "boutique" guns, guns that are made in limited numbers. Nothing wrong with a gun like that, they are beautifully made but not for everyone.

Ithaca has a golden chance to to straddle both worlds, field and competition, I really hope they don't let the chance slip away.

Man I hope this O/U is at shot show this year! Sure would make a nice anniversary gift for the wife. Cuz you know I would have to keep the dust off it when she isn't using it.

Side Note: Ithaca if you are listening please make it extractor capable, Love reloading, Hate picking up hulls.

I hope so too, but sadly, I am not holding my breath.

I thought I would revisit this one, while I'm hoping this comes to fruition. I think I'm going to look in another direction.

The 725's are very nice. Mechanical trigger.
