Not many posts under this subject :) I have one, a very low serial number (under 1000) in 12 gauge, 28" barrel. It was made in 1927. I'll try to post a picture before too long.

I don't think I've ever seen another one. Anyone out there have one?

Here is one with a vent rid, the model 3.

And here is some advertising about it. Your gun is a model 2.

Yours is a very early gun! Will you e-mail it serial number at wsnyder@pinehurst.net. I have some remaining records and would love to try to look it up. I will soon be attempting an article for the DGJ of the Lefever family of guns. The story of the model 4 will be in the next issue(I think).

Here is a 16 gauge model 2. Not nearly as nice as Flues's gun but not too bad. I bought it to disassemble for photographs.

Walter, your gun seems to have case colors on the frame. Mine is blued.
By reading the advertisement you posted above, it appears the frames on the Model 2s were scaled for the different gauges.

Your early gun looks untouched. So probably original. I have seen both blue and cyanide colored frames. Mine is a late gun, 23 thousand something. Don't know when the color started but perhaps with morer input, we can narrow it down. Problem is finding high condition examples.

Flues16, The trigger and trigger guard on my m-2 show case hardening colors. Any of that on your gun?

No Walt, the trigger and trigger guard on mine were blued. Much of the finish is worn off in that area, but some bluing remains.
