Here is a pic of a Nitro Special I picked up about 2 months ago. She is a well built "sturdy" gun. I broke 15 clays in a row trying her out this weekend! ;)

I got one of these! Given to me by the in-laws - it was my wife's grandfather's gun. It's a 20 gauge and it's gorgeous - an American classic.

I'd post pictures, but I don't have any here, and the gun's back home with most of the rest of my collection (moved for work, but hoping to move back soon if I can secure a job somewhere).

Hope all's well.

Hey, I am new here, and I just fell in love with my new shotgun, but would need some help finding out some info on it. It's a Lefever nitro special double 12ga 18.5" barrel. It doesn't look chopped, but all the nitro specials I have seen are 26"+ so a Little info would help a lot!

I'm still searching I did find a mail carry one with 18.5" barrel, but mine isn't stamp "UPRR" :?

any info about my new shotgun would be a great help

thanks,

boomstix

I am pretty sure your barrels have been cut. I think 26" barrels were the shortest. I found a couple of nitro specials that had 20" barrels and 18 1/2" barrels but in each case the owners said they were chopped. It is very easy to make it hard to tell they have been cut, kind of like gunsmithing 101 for someone who knows what he is doing.
