I just obtained an 1899 built Crass double in 12ga. I would like to rebuild it but with missing parts I'm at a standstill. I know I'm missing trigger springs, a firing pin assy, a hammer spring and rear stock and possibly more. A schematic would really help. Does anyone know where I could get one and a source for the parts. It's got Damascus barrels so I don't know if its shootable but I still want to make it operational. I've rebuilt a Browning Sweet Sixteen, a Winchester 9422 and a couple Marlin 39As from the early 1950s, but I'm new to these old guns and could use some help.

They don't have any info on the Crass model but they gave me the name of a the gunsmith that worked for the old Ithaca company. This is what they gave me. I have not yet contacted him.

. Les Hovencamp, who for 28 years was the head gunsmith for the original Ithaca, now owns and operates Diamond Gunsmithing in Ithaca, New York.

He can be contacted at 607-273-4510 between 2:00PM and 5:00PM Tuesdays through Fridays. Les’ website is http://www.diamondgunsmithing.com.

Maybe this will help others looking for info.

Another place to check on parts for your Crass would be (and is) Numrich.

Their website: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ .

I just ordered parts from them on a Crass that I am working on. As far as stock work, Macon Gunstocks would be the place to check out.

Give them a call: https://www.macongunstocks.com/. By the way, good luck with your project.
