Hello, the name's Mark. I am looking at buying an Ithaca single Action 44 magnum revolver and can't seem to find any info on these anywhere. The seller says is was made in the 70s.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge Ithaca never made a revolver of any type, or imported one for that matter. The only hand guns that I am aware of are as follows:
-During WW II Ithaca made the Colt pattern 1911A1 45 auto. -At some point Ithaca contracted with another company to produce a 45, if I remember this would of been a 50th anniversary of WWII. -Current production 45 cal. 1911A1 pistols at the Ohio plant. -There was a very limited run of 22 long rifle pistols. The Ithaca gun company has been known to produce a few tool room samples from time to time, it is possible that they had looked into revolvers at some point. |

Could you be looking at an Ivor Johnson? Like cutcher, I've never heard of an Ithaca Revolver.

The revolver turned out to be an IAC that the seller was misrepresenting as an Ithaca. I have never personally heard of any Ithaca revolvers but I am smart enough to know that I don't know everything. So, I thought I'd ask the experts.
Thanks for the help. |
