Here you go guys. This is what my dear wife got me for Christmas! A 1980 Marlin 336 (pre safety, JM barrel stamp). I'm finding that old Marlins and old Ithacas go together like hands and gloves!

Thanks. It's in good shape, but its got its hunting marks, especially on the end of the mag tube, but no signs of abuse.

One thing that gives me hope that it'll be a real shooter is that someone knew e ought to loosed up the mag tube. If you look at the last pic you can see that the wood around the tube has been relieved, a real good job too. It allows the mag tube to have a little play, lessening the stress on the barrel as it heats up. It's kind of like free floating the barrel on a bolt gun.

I'm sure you know about that. But I didn't before I got this one.
