AK47 and Variants

The AK47 is undoubtedly one of the most widely produced and distributed firearms in the world. Their simplicity in design and function, ease to mass produce, and low relative cost has made them the waepon of choice for both military and private use for decades. Not to mention they're almost impossible to kill.

So let's see those AK pics...

Decided to restore my AK with an authentic wooden Romanian handguard and furniture. The set was actually Romanian surplus and was pretty old. It was in great condition when it showed up, but the finish was worn and brownish grey in color.

Here it is sanded down and ready to be re-finished...

... a few coats of Red Mahogany, a light laquer, and here's the end result...

I'm really diggin the new look and I don't see too many AKs with the Romy handguard...
