Hi everyone, New guy here at this forum, I just bought the new Ithaca 1911A1 with black matt (parkerized) finish with adjustable military sights. Nice handgun but the finish seems to be very thin. It gets marked very easily. Brass marks behind the shell ejector. Not sure what to do about it. Can't be removed by cleaning. Maybe call the sales rep at Ithaca. All said I love shooting a 1911A1 45, love the recoil and the way they feel. Any other reviews would be welcomed, Thanks BILLKI

i am really interested in an Ithaca 1911 and would love to hear from others who have had a chance to shoot one or own one. i would also appreciate knowing if there are any good reviews online. seems strange that there isn't much discussion yet.

Just picked one up about a month ago. Stumbled upon it when I was researching a WW2 era 1911 made by Ithaca that was given to me. There are about a half a dozen reviews online, If You havent already found them google the name. Iwill tell you this it is the best made 1911 I own. They call it there standard or stock, but it is closer to a custom, then a few of my customs. If you got the money for a Kimber or a Colt save a little more and get the Ithaca. You wont be sorry!
