Here are my current 37's. These have stuck and will stay here and be handed down. The laminate was my first attempt at stocking a gun. I got them from Fajen while it was still making good things.

I simply cannot believe what the current models are selling for ! I didn't pay over 450.0 new for any of those guns !
The one with the laminate stock, has the Deerslayer barrel with it. The ones that were made undersize to fit the Remington (and other) undersized 12 gauge slugs of the day. I had the gunsmith I use ream the entire barrel out to correct 12 gauge size. With today's sabots and larger diameter slugs, I was afraid that if I ever did sell it, give it to my boy, etc, that eventually someone would run something down it that would create too much pressure. It does make a very versatile short barreled slug gun. I have even thought about having it set up for choke tubes so that one of the short rifled tubes could be used. That would make it perfect for a lot of stuff. A modified tube for quick handling in the brush for rabbits and even short flushing pheasants. |

Here is the latest acquisition. A 1956 vintage 16 with modified barrel

Here are the pics of the 1949 solid rib with extra barrel and the 1952 with Simmons rib that I just got. The extra barrel is a Kings Ferry barrel that was threaded appropriately. Originally it was fitted to another gun. A gunsmith correctly fitted it to this one. I checked the headspace with depth mics. It came with 8 choke tubes. The set of 4 internal and 4 external tubes for steel shot.

Love those solid ribs, Dave. My 16 and 20 both are solid rib, but nowhere near as clean as yours. One day I might tackle refinishing the 20 but Dad's 16 stays the way it is.
