That is one sweet looking Ithaca Model 37 DS Police Special. What year is it?

I'm not sure what year it is, I'm new to the Ithaca collecting but I'm trying to read about them and learn more.

Hi Matt, Does it slam fire? I have a late 70s DSPS and I love that feature! Almost like a 12 gauge machine gun!

I have a number of model 37 guns that have the slam fire including a DSPS. I have done it and it is a lot of fun. I usually throw an empty box or can on the ground and have at it HOWEVER in Walt Snyder's book he notes that if the action is worn it could fire before the round is chambered and does not suggest that it be done.

Thanks! I found some proper Ithaca sling studs and it now sports a M14 green web sling. I had my gunsmith attach the sling studs and it looks great. This shotgun is going to accompany me on my berry picking adventures this summer in the Olympic Mountains so the sling was a must. Normally I like to keep vintage stuff like this unmodified but the sling shouldn't affect the value too much I think.

Matt,

That's a nice gun.

Can you tell me what capacity and barrel length it has? (My DSPS guns are both 7+1,24".)

Regards,

Mark.
