Is Ithaca going to have a booth at the SHOT Show, if so what is the number and hall location and will there be an opportunity for us to meet at the booth. Would be a nice touch for Forum members.

They always have a presence at SHOT, Trench. won't know the booth number until it gets closer to convention time, though. --Jim

OK, we are a member of the NSSF, so I should be able to find out. We received our number last week. Are you going to attend, be good to meet you?

Trench, it would be a pleasure to do so and meet you, but SHOT comes at the worst time of year for me. Between me and my wife's business, I'm up to my ears trying to get everything settled. One of these years, though....

We'll get there one way or the other, I still have good freinds in Mass just across the border in Dracutt, I grew up in the Berkshires. Don't stress out too much, life is too short.

The shot show, is it open to the public? I was under the impression that you had to be "in the industry" to attend. Is that true?
|
|
Yes, you have to be associated with the industry, conservation, hunter education, dealers and retailers etc. Some of our members are and might be able to attend. We will have a booth there with our company just did not know how many others might be in the same boat. I think it would be wise for Ithaca to have a program for its forum members to attend, if they want to. Their is a charge for the badge if Ithaca authorized the name but it would be a nice perk for the Forum and some that might be able to see all at once.

Dracut? Lakeview Ave.!!! And you grew up in the 413 Area Code, Very nice. I've gone hunting in Orange, not too much farther West than that though --Jim

Yes, my home was 1/2 mile from Vermont, 1/2 mile from New York. Grey Bob's were the game of choice for the Ithaca (with Beagle's of course), and White's on top of the mountains along Route 2 on the Mohawk Trail. Little town on top called Florida had the best area for White's.

Ithaca will be there and I will post up their booth number as well. I will be there with my siblings (the ones who set up the forums and do all the behind the scenes work). We should definitely meet up and maybe even go out and grab some food with the Ithaca crew.

Outstanding, our booth is L349, locatd in the third floor of the Venetian hotel (doesn't sound very consolidated this year at all). We are a not-for-profit member of the NSSF, Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation. We will have the article on the TrenchGun on display in our booth, I'll make an extra copy if Ithaca wants to have it in the Forum area. Looking forward to meeting you. my email is calderman@quwf.net, if you want to exchange cell phone numbers.

Home town was called Clarksburg, north of North Adams, and on the border with Stamford Vermont. A gorgious area this time of year.

And cold, it was 30 here this morning! --Jim

We have bad weather here, 75 and tornadoes tonight. I do like the colder weather, especially when cutting wood. I used to ride a snowmobile over the mountains, can't do that here.

There was some pretty wild weather at the Alabama-Missouri game that is for sure. Oh noone like cutting wood in the heat. Nothing like sweating your rear end off and getting showered in sawdust and wood chips.

Yes, it calmed down just after midnight, kept raining but the wind and warnings stopped. Took the dozer out today and helped a neighbor clear land for his new barn. Always good to be outside.

And not only is it good to be outside, it is good to be outside driving heavy equipment! --Jim

Really enjoyed visiting the Ithaca SHOT booth and meet all the faces with the names. I especially liked the news the 16 GA will now be available to all dealers not just an exclusive for one retailer. May, no, I will have another 16 in the collection this year.
