I have recently seen a post for a Ithaca 91 a. The guy swears it is a Ithaca, has anybody ever heard of this? He only wants 200 dollars for it. I don't want to commit to go look at it if I am not going to buy it. It is about a 2 hour drive.

I don't think it would be a proto type. Maybe a badly stamped 51. I don't know where the A would be from.

I believe the 51 was made in an A version.

there were changes made to the trigger pack

Here is an example of a 51A that was sold a while back

I kinda figured out who sold this gun. If you look at the other guns that he has for sale and do some careful forensic analysis of the actual photographs, you can figure it out and from that, determine that
the description of the gun and the comments are extremely credible.
