In the afternoon went for a partridge/rabbit hunt.Still no partridge, but a rabbit did come home with the 28 gauge Ithaca Model 37.

few from the last couple of days

this bird came from a triple flush
I think the birds undergo Luftwaffe training..they came up into the sun
I missed the first bird completely ,,tail end Charlie I clipped then dropped with my 3rd shot.
then I lost the damn thing in a cut corn field .hows that happen?
doesn't matter Lilith tracked it down

Out for a short partridge/rabbit hunt this evening before dark. Was able to bag two rabbits with the 28 gauge Ithaca Model 37.It was getting quite dark when I bagged the rabbits. If the first one had not moved I do not think I would have seen it and if the second one had not been turning so white, I doubt I would have seen it either.

Well last night my wife bagged the top of our tree in the back yard. (It is hard to prune). It was New Years Eve and I shot out the old year with my 1911 Flues 10 gauge SXS. My wife brought in the new year with the new 37 28 gauge. Then I helped with the Mag-10 semi with the big shells. It was the first time the 28 gauge was fired. (bought it about ten months ago) Our dairy farm is surrounded by city, with houses all around us. It takes NewYears Eve at midnight to find out who has guns, and I would say our neighbor hood is well armed. Oh and by the way, that tree won't need pruning for quite a while now. Happy New Year everyone. Donald

I built the gun in the picture from parts. I got a bare receiver and put it all together. This is the 2nd 16ga I have built from a box of parts.

The gun is now officially a hunting gun, instead of a carrying gun. I took a sneak through the woods this morning. About an hour, hour and a half walk. It was productive.

Here is the story of this gun
